In March Alone, Border Patrol Agents Arrested Seven Sex Offenders in the El Paso Sector

The El Paso Sector is one of the most active areas of illegal immigration into the US. The border patrol agents in this sector work throughout the Texas counties of El Paso and Hudspeth and all of New Mexico to keep illegal aliens from entering the country.

Through their vigilant efforts, border patrol agents stopped seven sex offenders trying to enter the country in March 2015 alone. Several had committed their crimes in the US and were trying to re-enter the country. The border patrol provides the details of three of the most recent arrests.

The most recent case took place on March 31 when border patrol agents spotted six individuals running through the desert in New Mexico. The agents spent several hours tracking the group and were able to apprehend them. The group was transported to the Deming Border Patrol Station where agents discovered that one of them was a registered sex offender who had served prison time in the US for “Indecent Liberties-with-a-Child”. The government charged Hugo Escobar Ramirez with re-entry, and he is awaiting prosecution at the Luna County Detention Center.

In another instance, border patrol agents intercepted a Mexican citizen entering the country illegally and discovered that he had been charged with possessing child pornography in North Scituate, Rhode Island. This took place on March 25 near the Paso Del Norte Port of Entry. The government will deport Jose Carlos Fonseca Escamilla, and he is currently being held at the El Paso County Detention Facility.

On March 22, agents in Las Cruces discovered an illegal alien traveling through a border patrol checkpoint on I-25. Agents investigated the background of Gilbert Duran and discovered his extensive criminal history that included a rape conviction. In addition, he had assaulted a police officer and had been caught prowling. The government is charging him with re-entry and will reinstate his original deportation.
